The Identity Paradox: Who Does God Say You Are?
☁️ The First Fluff
Before we start, let me ask you this: Can you make a list of all your favourite people on earth?
Have you got your response?
If you have, how many names did you go through before you got to you? Are you even on the list?
That’s a sobering thought. But here’s a better one: God already wrote your name on His list before the world even began.
The Many Spheres of Me (And You)
With each friend, I only share a slice of me. (Get it? Toast? Slices? Moving on.)
I have my “deep thinker” side, where I wrestle with big questions.
My “trying-to-have-it-all-together” side, where I pretend I don’t need help.
My “replay-every-group-chat-message” side, wondering if I was too much, too little, or just plain awkward.
But how do you unveil every version of yourself before someone decides they’ve seen enough?
Here’s the thing: God already has.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” — Jeremiah 1:5
We’re so afraid of being “too much” or “not enough,” but God never flinches at the fullness of who we are.
He sees it all—and calls us His.
The Ship of Theseus, But Make It Biblical
If you stripped away your job, your status, your validation—who are you?
“You are precious and honoured in my sight, and because I love you.” — Isaiah 43:4
The world says: prove yourself.
God says: you’re already mine.
Your identity isn’t in the curated highlight reel. It’s in the Creator.
You Are Fully Known and Fully Loved
I don’t have a tidy ending to this post. I don’t have a grand movie moment where someone finally understood all of me.
But I’ve realised something better:
I don’t need to be fully understood by everyone—because I’m already fully known by God.
And that? Is more than enough.
☁️ The Final Fluff
You are not your resume. Not your mess. Not your highlight reel.
You are loved as you are—every version, every season, every spiral.
